Designed in Europe, the Hatteras is defined by its impeccable stitching and sense of bold simplicity. Soft corduroy transitions from season to season. The 8-piece construction and sewn-down brim are standard features inspired by the iconic Newsboy Cap, which in turn took its cues from the Scottish Bonnet-style hats and Irish Flat Caps worn by farmers and labourers of the 14th century. When those same workers eventually immigrated to the U.S.A. they brought their hats with them, which quickly caught on. A favourite of American jazz legends since the early 1900s, the Hatteras is a cap rooted in history. Equally at home, in the field, and on city streets, the Hatteras epitomise Stetson’s commitment to craft and celebrates the courageous spirit.
